Larry Fessenden's "Depraved" opens tomorrow at IFC Center

The charismatic underground horror icon Larry Fessenden has chosen the art-house and movies theater IFC Center in New York City to be the scenario of the worldwide premiere of his latest work, the horror thriller Depraved (2019). For the movie, as the real jack of all trades he is, the filmmaker has taken the position of writer, director, producer, film editor and even had the time for a small cameo role.

Depraved (2019) tells the story of a disillusioned field surgeon suffering from PTSD (Post-traumatic stress disorder) that is in the quest of making a man out of body parts and bring him to life, using as laboratory a Brooklyn loft. Some sort of mad Frankenstein who has watched The Human Centipede movies too often.

Larry Fessenden might be better known for his presence in front of the cameras being the star of films like Habit (1995), Session 9 (2001), Headspace (2005), The Last Winter (2006), I Sell the Dead (2008), Satan Hates You (2010), You’re Next (2011), Ritual (2013), Body (2015), We Are Still Here (2015), The Mind’s Eye (2015), Southbound (2015), Darling (2015), Carnage Park (2016) or Stray Bullets (2016), with him being often also writer, producer or director of the film.

Depraved (2019) is starred by David Call, Joshua Leonard, Alex Breaux, Ana Kayne, Maria Dizzia, Chloë Levine, Owen Campbell, Addison Timlin, Chris O’Connor, Alice Barrett and Jack Fessenden, the son of Larry Fessenden and also a multitask filmmaker.

As part of the world premiere, the screening of Depraved (2019) will be followed for Q&A sessions with the writer and director Larry Fessenden as well as some other members of the cast and crew.
