5 people are stranded surrounded by sharks in "Great White"

It is one of the constants in the summer. Traffic collapsed on the way to the beach, hordes of drunk tourists on the most popular vacationing destinations, and movies of sharks eating good-looking stranded youngsters on the silver screens. For the enthusiastic followers of movies like The Reef (2010), The Shallows (2016), 47 Meters Down (2017), and its sequel 47 Meters Down: Uncaged (2019) this year is the turn for Great White (2021).

In the movie, a blissful tourist trip turns into a nightmare for five passengers when their seaplane goes down near a shipwreck. Stranded miles from shore in an inflatable life raft, they find themselves in a desperate fight for survival as they try to make it to land before they either run out of supplies or are taken by a menacing pack of sharks lurking just beneath the surface.

After a few short films, Great White (2021) is the debut feature film of Australian filmmaker Martin Wilson. The screenplay has been written by Michael Boughen, known for being the producer of interesting films like Dying Breed (2008), The Loved Ones (2009), or Killer Elite (2011).

The main cast is formed by Katrina Bowden, Aaron Jakubenko, Kimie Tsukakoshi, Tim Kano, Te Kohe Tuhaka, Jason Wilder, and Tatjana Marjanovic.

Great White (2021) had a theatrical premiere in May and since then its been available on-demand and on DVD in several countries. Now, by the hand of RLJE Films, it will be in theaters and on digital in the USA on July 16, 2021. Here you can watch its official new trailer.
