“How far would you go to have a child?”. This is the main concept of the horror-coated psychological thriller The Institute (2022). Because in it, a young couple unable to conceive travels to a doctor’s remote facility, and their horrors will unleash.
The film tells of a young couple, desperate to have a child, that begin treatment at a renowned doctor’s secluded facility. The couple becomes suspicious when the medical regimen brings on psychological side effects and tries to learn the truth about The Institute.
This is the debut feature film of writer and director Hamza Zaman after a bunch of short films including awards-winner science-fiction drama Tribe (2020).
The main cast in The Institute (2022) is formed by Ignacyo Matynia, Victorya Brandart, Mark Lobene, Joy Donze, Claire McClain, Louisa Bradshaw, Jarred Harper, and Grammy and Emmy award-winner John Easterlin.
Several horror media has described The Institute (2022) as “an excellent horror-mystery”. Pop Horror said about it “I loved the ending, and that’s a testament to Zaman [the director]’s ability to create and maintain tension, as well as his instincts on how to blindside viewers with unexpected horror“.
Produced by Headless Films, Whiptail Wallaby Productions, and Conducive Productions, The Institute (2022) will be released on multiple VOD platforms, Satellite & Cable networks, and on Blu-Ray and DVD at select retailers on March 22, 2022, by Gravitas Ventures.
