Horizon Line (2020) is a Swedish full-adrenaline thriller about a couple flying on a small plane to attend a tropical island wedding that must fight for their lives after their pilot suffers a heart attack.
This thrilling survival story centers on two former lovers, Sara and Jackson, who discover new altitudes of fear aboard a single-engine Cessna plane. It was supposed to be a routine and casual 99-minute flight to their friend’s tropical island wedding. But within minutes after takeoff, their pilot suffers a fatal heart attack, leaving Sara and Jackson with no idea where they are, no comms, and no clue how to land the plane. With nothing but miles of ocean and sky in every direction, and a terrifying storm that’s about to envelop them. Sara and Jackson have only one shot, and there’s no going back.
The movie is directed by Mikael Marcimain, responsible for the thrillers Call Girl (2012) and Gentlemen (2014). Josh Campbell and Matthew Stuecken, the writers of the astonishing 10 Cloverfield Lane (2016), have been in charge of the screenplay. Jaume Collet-Serra, director of all those yummy Liam Neeson action flicks Unknown (2011), Non-Stop (2014), Run All Night (2015), and The Commuter (2018), as well as a similar survival thriller The Shallows (2016), serves here as the executive producer.
Allison Williams, the always interesting star of Get Out (2017) and The Perfection (2018), and Alexander Dreymon, of The Last Kingdom (2015– ) TV series fame, form the main cast together with veteran Keith David (The Thing (1982), They Live (1988), Dead Presidents (1995), Pitch Black (2000) and many others).
Horizon Line (2020) is Rated PG-13 for some strong language, bloody injury images, suggestive material/partial nudity, smoking, and brief drug use. The movie is having a theatrical release in the UK on November 6, 2020, via STX Entertainment. Here you can watch its official trailer.
