Meredith Danluck is a writer, producer and director with several short films and documentary on her back. Yet, her latest project is a fiction mystery thriller that sounds like one of the most promising titles to appear early next year entitled State Like Sleep (2018).

In it, one year after the untimely death of her husband, a young woman receives a phone call that pulls her back to Brussels and the life there that she’s tried to forget. She is forced to finally confront her grief but is swept up in unraveling the mysteries surrounding her husband’s last days alive, a celebrity with a mysterious double life who allegedly committed suicide.

Meredith Danluck has written and directed the movie which was part of the line-up of Tribeca Film Festival last spring. The movie is starred by Katherine Waterston, known for being one of the crew members in Alien: Covenant (2017), and Michael Shannon, who needs no introduction after appearing in a long list of amazing titles like The Shape of Water (2017), Midnight Special (2016), Nocturnal Animals (2016), Take Shelter (2011), and William Friedkin‘s Bug (2006) among many others. With them, Michiel Huisman, Luke Evans and Mary Kay Place complete the main cast.

State Like Sleep (2018) will open in the USA next 4th of January. Other international dates are yet to be announced, which I hope they do soon because this looks like an interesting flick. You can watch its official trailer here:
