Laughs and frights. Check out horror comedies "Dead" and "Are We Dead Yet"

A haunted house in Are We Dead Yet (2019) and regular ghosts in Dead (2020). That is what we have today on the menu. Both movies are already available on-demand, so let’s dig a little bit more.

In Are We Dead Yet (2019) a robbery goes horrifyingly wrong when five have-a-go criminals are forced to take refuge from the police in an old castle. What starts out as ‘one last job’ quickly becomes a hilarious fun-filled journey of ghostly misfortunes.

The movie has been written and directed by Fredi ‘Kruga’ Nwaka, an actor that debuts behind the cameras in a feature film with this title. Jessica-Jane Stafford, Khali Best, Tim Faraday, Lucia Efstathiou, Lamissah La-Shontae, Elijah Baker, Fabrizio Santino, and Sharon Lawrence form the main cast together with the director reserving the role of “smoke” for himself.

On the other side, from New Zealand arrives Dead (2020), where Marbles, a hapless stoner, can see ghosts. Tagg, a recently dead wannabe super-cop, needs to find a serial killer. Can a critical ghost cop and a directionless stoner get over their prejudices and work together to save lives – and deaths?

Hayden J. Weal, known for being behind the cameras in awards-winner Chronesthesia (2016), has been director of the movie and responsible for the screenplay together with Thomas Sainsbury. Both of them are also part of the main cast that includes Emily Campbell, Michael Hurst, Tomai Ihaia, Mayen Mehta, Kayne Peters, Cameron Rhodes, Jess Sayer, and Jennifer Ward-Lealand.
