London’s FrightFest hit: Dark Sky Films acquires the zombies action horror "Herd"

Following a successful world premiere at London’s FrightFest, Dark Sky Films today announced it has acquired North American distribution rights to Herd (2023), an action-driven horror film and the directorial debut from Steven Pierce, co-written by Pierce and James Allerdyce.

The movie tells the story of a woman trying to outrun a past complicated by an abusive father. When she and her wife end up trapped between a zombie outbreak and warring militia groups in her hometown, she is forced to fight for both love and survival.

After some short films, including the awards-winner fantasy comedy Bang. Bang. (2019), Steven Pierce as the producer, editor, co-writer, and director of a feature film with Herd (2023). His frequent collaborator James Allerdyce is the co-writer and also producer for the film.

The main cast is formed by Ellen Adair, Mitzi Akaha, Jeremy Holm, Timothy V. Murphy, Amanda Fuller, Dana Snyder, Brandon James Ellis, Jeremy Lawson, and Corbin Bernsen, who is better known for his roles in the iconic The Dentist (1996) and its sequel The Dentist 2 (1998).
