The Asylum is threatening our planet again: "Doomsday Meteor" is out

If we must figure out from where The Asylum took the inspiration to build a title like Doomsday Meteor (2023) we could easily point at titles like Mimi Leder’s Deep Impact (1998) and Michael Bay’s Armageddon (1998), those blockbusters that helped to turn the end of the 1990s into a revival of natural disaster films together with other hits like Twister (1996), Volcano (1997), and Dante’s Peak (1997).

This time, a massive meteor threatens to destroy planet Earth, so scientists try to stop it with high-powered lasers.

Noah Luke, the director of other The Asylum titles like Jungle Run (2021), Moon Crash (2022), Thor: God of Thunder (2022), Attack on Titan (2022), or Battle for Pandora (2022), has been behind the cameras. The comedians turned into screenwriters Lauren Pritchard and Joe Roche, responsible for the screenplays for Robot Apocalypse (2021), Planet Dune (2021), Moon Crash (2022), and 4 Horsemen: Apocalypse (2022), are the writers of Doomsday Meteor (2023).

Eva Ceja, Sharon Desiree, Joseph Michael Harris, Anthony Jensen, Patrick Labyorteaux, Kennedy Porter, Natalie Storrs, Caroline Williams, and Maxi Witrak form the main cast.

Doomsday Meteor (2023) can already be found on the usual The Asylum screening channels and on DVD. Watch its official trailer here.
