Although they are not pioneers of anything, WolfCop (2014) and its sequel Another WolfCop (2017) were a fresh and fun low budget couple of films in the subgenre of monster flicks, starring the always beloved werewolf creatures. To be more specific, cop monster flicks. In them, a lazy cop turns into a werewolf and starts to deliver justice in his own and gory way. If you don’t know the movies, trust me and give them a check, they are worth your time.
Lowell Dean was the writer and director, brain and soul, of the WolfCop saga. For his next movie, he decided to adapt the screenplay written by T.R. McCauley and Justin Ludwig, both part of the WolfCop crew, called SuperGrid (2018). In it, we are placed in the near future where a plague has infected much of the population. Mining conglomerates have turned the land into a wasteland and two brothers are tasked with traveling to Canada to retrieve a mysterious package. They must travel the same road that claimed their sister’s life in their quest to deliver an unknown cargo. En route they must contend with road pirates, rebel gangs, and each other.
SuperGrid (2018) is starred by Leo Fafard, Marshall Williams, Natalie Krill, Jay Reso, Amy Matysio, Jonathan Cherry, Tinsel Korey, Fei Ren and Daniel Maslany. The movie was part of the Calgary Film Festival, and also the BiTS – Blood in the Snow Canadian Film Festival where it won the Bloodie award for Best Cinematography.
Set to hit VOD platforms in the US and Canada on December 18th, here you can watch the official trailer for SuperGrid (2018), shared by Raven Banner and published in exclusivity in the Bloody Disgusting YouTube channel.
