Nekrotronic (2018) is one of those movies that one can’t take seriously. It was built only to bring the audience a good hour and a half of fun and entertainment. A man who discovers that he is part of a secret sect of magical beings who hunt down and destroy demons on the internet. We had the honor to watch the movie last year at the Sitges Film Festival and it surely wasn’t a disappointment. Now, it is finally going to see the light and it’s scheduled to come out to select theaters and digital HD on August 9.
In the movie, Howard North is a down on his luck sewage worker who gets dragged into a global conflict between the Nekromancers, a family of badass demon hunters, and Finnegan (Monica Bellucci) – an evil demon who absorbs people’s souls to increase her power. When Howard finds out the truth behind Finnegan’s past and her dark plans for the future, he teams up with his new friends to discover he is the ultimate Nekromancer, the only one with the power to defeat her and save the world. In other words, cyberdemons taking over the world population via the internet. As sweet as that.
Nekrotronic (2018) is written and directed by Kiah Roache-Turner, the man behind Wyrmwood: Road of the Dead (2014). Dave Beamish, Monica Bellucci, Charmaine Bingwa, Caroline Ford, Benedict Hardie and Tess Haubrich form the main cast of the movie.
