Take a look at sci-fi thrillers "Danger Diva" and "Override"

The good times of cyberpunk science-fiction thriller movies are long gone. Titles like The Lawnmower Man (1992) and Johnny Mnemonic (1995) marked a generation, although now technology is moving so fast that they might look oldtimers, virtual reality is already living together with us, and disk storage capacity has surpassed the limits of the mind –you’ll get this pun if you’ve seen the movie, heh…. –

Not to be compared with the two essential titles named before, Danger Diva (2017) and Override (2021) are two science-fiction thriller movies dealing with the concepts and dangers of Virtual Reality, Artificial Intelligence, and high technology.

Danger Diva (2017) is a music-driven cyberpunk thriller about a hard-rocking singer who is coerced into becoming an electronically enhanced new-music diva by her high tech billionaire patron. Set in the near future, her singing voice is used to control and energize the brains of employees that are being used as external hard drives for the corporations’ clients. Referred to as Brain Cattle, the workers operate in a digital sweatshop processing binary algorithms and function musically as a chorus for the diva. Danger Diva (2017) explores the conflict between high tech vs. high touch, and what it means to be human in a digitally enhanced biotech future.

The movie has been written and directed by Robert McGinley, also responsible for action thriller Jimmy Zip (1999) and horror Shredder Orpheus (1990). Molly Sides, Conner B. Neddersen, Tracy Hyland, Tim Gouran, Brian Faker, Amy Thone, and Ray Tagavilla form the main cast.

Danger Diva (2017) had its world premiere back on April 13, 2017, in Seattle, Washington. The same year it was part of the New Media Film Festival where it was nominated for the festival award. Now, it is available on-demand. Here you can watch its trailer.

Set in the year 2024, Override (2021), also known as R.I.A., centers on a young woman who finds herself reliving the same day over and over. Each day Ria wakes up to her normal routine but finds a different man, her husband Jack, by her side. She lives her perfect house-wife life, until one day her routine becomes tiresome and Ria holds Jack’s ransom and escapes the house. We find a massive conspiracy plan behind Ria, her husband(s), and the secret is finally revealed.

This is the new movie of the writer, editor, and director Richard Colton after action and horror-oriented films Dangerous Game (2017), Dead Ringer (2018), and The Seven (2019). The main cast is formed by Jess Impiazzi, Luke Goss, Dean Cain, Amar Adatia, Stefan Boehm, Kimberly Wyatt, Charlie Clapham, Tony Discipline, Martin Alexander, and Leon Ockenden.

Override (2021) debuted on the internet on January 26, 2021. Here you can watch its trailer.
