Two couples must survive a South American myth in "The Curse of La Patasola"

La Patasola is a South American folklore myth in the style of other supernatural beings like La Llorona or Chupacabras. Translated in English as “the one-leg”, she is a female monster from the jungle, appearing to male hunters or loggers in the middle of the wilderness when they think about women. La Patasola appears in the form of a beautiful and seductive woman, often in the likeness of a loved one, who lures a man away from his companions deep into the jungle. There, La Patasola reveals her true, hideous appearance as a one-legged creature with ferocious vampire-like lust for human flesh and blood, attacking and devouring the flesh or sucking the blood of her victims.

In the movie The Curse of La Patasola (2022), two struggling couples on a weekend camping trip are haunted by La Patasola, a famed vampiric monster from Amazonian folklore, testing their relationships, morality, and will to survive.

This is the debut feature film of actor, writer, and director AJ Jones after being behind a few short films. He has been the writer of the screenplay together with Shaun Mathis.

The main cast for The Curse of La Patasola (2022) is formed by Patrick R. Walker, Najah Bradley, AJ Jones, Gillie Jones, Mark Pettit, and Luciana Faulhaber as La Patasola.

The movie is Rated R for some violence, drug use, and language. It is scheduled for release on January 14, 2022, by Vertical Entertainment. Watch here the official trailer for The Curse of La Patasola (2022).
