"Werewolves Within": The video game adaptation turned into a horror comedy

Werewolves Within is a multiplayer VR game for Oculus Rift, HTC Vive, and PlayStation VR, developed by Red Storm Entertainment, published by Ubisoft, and released on 6 December 2016. The game is set in a medieval-fantasy town that is being attacked by a werewolf, and players are tasked to guess which of the townsfolk is the werewolf in disguise in a Mafia-style format. And, now, we have its film adaptation.

Werewolves Within (2021) is a horror-comedy film with its start point on a proposed gas pipeline that has created divisions within the small town of Beaverfield. When a snowstorm traps its residents together inside the local inn, newly arrived forest ranger Finn and postal worker Cecily must try to keep the peace and uncover the truth behind a mysterious creature that has begun terrorizing the community.

The movie has been directed by Josh Ruben, an actor and TV filmmaker whose debut feature film was horror-comedy Scare Me (2020). Comedian and writer Mishna Wolff has been in charge of the screenplay.

The cast for the movie is formed by Sam Richardson, Milana Vayntrub, George Basil, Sarah Burns, Michael Chernus, Catherine Curtin, Wayne Duvall, Harvey Guillén, Rebecca Henderson, Cheyenne Jackson, Michaela Watkins, Glenn Fleshler, Patrick M. Walsh, and Anni Krueger.

Werewolves Within (2021) is Rated R for some bloody violence, sexual references, and language throughout. The movie was part of the Tribeca Film Festival this month and is scheduled for a video on demand release on July 2, 2021, by IFC Films. Here you can watch its trailer.
